Best two new Australian blogs

One Perfect Morning.
Estelle is not only an amazing jewellery designer but she also has the most fabulous taste in fashion and, oh boy can she write. Updated nearly daily her blog reviews the latest and greatest from the runway both overseas and back home and showcases her eclectic taste in shoes, including these Alexander Wang babies below.
Capital City Pretty.
An Aussie who is also a fashion insider, blogging from backstage at the Christopher Kane shows at London Fashion Week and showing her own paparazzi shots from the streets of Paris Fashion Week. The biggest scoop of all being a shot of the star of "The September Issue" Grace Coddington, otherwise known as the eccentric Creative Director at none other then Vogue USA. Wearing flats no less. Only Grace can get away with that at Paris Fashion Week.

Street Style pics of the week

All photos from facehunter. These photos speak volumes about originality and individuality. Why follow the crowd when you can make them follow you? Everyone loves cut off jeans right now, but the girl on the bottom makes them her own by pairing them with bright yellow tights and awesome wedges. Fashion should be fun, and Yvan's photos always capture that childlike feeling of going through a dress up box and discovering something new. The good news is he is headed down under (again) in November, so people start getting ready now!

What to wear to the races

Lady Petrova's new Spring/Summer 2010 collection is slowly popping in store, most of which will be available before the Spring racing season begins. Featuring cute white lace babydoll dresses and chic black and white polkadot prints all of which just scream to be worn in the famous birdcage tent come Cup day.

Lady Petrova can be found at Shop 3/237 Flinders Lane, Melbourne 3000 (down Scott Alley). Petrova also has a beautiful range of vintage and handmade hats and fascinators, not to mention gorgeous heels, to go with the perfect dress fit for a day at the races. Please though, don't be one of those girls staggering home heels in hand, these dresses warrant lady like behaviour.

Limedrop "Places I've never been"

The much anticipated launch of Limedrop's Spring/Summer 09/10 collection "Places I've never been" is next Thursday night at Comeback Kid. The idea behind the collection came from kitsch tourist t-shirts and souvineers which is a cute concept and the clothes have that usual quirky Limedrop edge. Featuring key cuts and colours for the season be sure to bring your purse, as you can shop at the launch too, and boy will you want to. Oh and hands off the black dress, its mine!

Transmission interupted

Tonight, while out for a celebratory dinner, Alastair (Founder of Melbourne Street Fashion.com) and I (Creative Director) found out Melbourne Street Fashion.com had been hacked. This happened during our busiest time, Fashion Week, and right now we are crazy busy trying to get it fixed. So tonight unfortunatly I'm unable to post as per normal. Hopefully on the weekend I can make up for it. I hope you understand. Its a litte sureal really, and even The Age have phoned us for an interview. I'm in shock right now.

Tonight is the night

As you read this I am at the opening of my exhibition at Comeback kid. Isn't it amazing how I can post here and be there all at once? Nah, it's just some computer trickery. So it's actually Wednesday night as I write this, and I have just rushed out to purchase the new Russh magazine (haha, get it, rushed, haha). Issue number 30, or the September issue of this beloved magazine is a true stand out on the racks. The beautiful Ali Stephens lands the cover, an interview and a 14 page spread where she rocks some amazing white bodysuits, nana nickers and some architectual Dion Lee jackets. The fashion editorials styled by Russh's own fashion editor Stevie Dance are always truly inspired, but in this issue it exceeds all my expectations. The cover says it all "one hundred per cent".

My favourite shoot in the magazine is "Creep" Apocalyptic Androgyny which stars Andre J, a model I have photographed myself (are you seeing a trend here? In my last post I mentioned how I photographed Jethro, then bam he is everywhere, maybe I am good at picking the next big thing in male models?) Andre brings the right intensity to the eerily lit shoot.

Male Model of the moment

Jethro Cave.

As shot by Hedi Slimane and well, me, ha. Jethro's photo is just one of the photos you can expect to see at next Thursday's Melbourne Street Fashion.com exhibition. I really can only think of the exhibition at this stage, with only a week to go I'm very stressed yet excited, and currently a little tipsy after the Beat Poet launch at Alice Euphemia. Fashion week brings with it so many events before and after the actual "fashion week" it really should be called "fashion month". So please bear with me as the mayhem unfolds. I'll try and keep you up to date on all the insiders news and goss, but if they keep providing unlimited free champers I don't know how I will be able to cope. I'm an easy drunk you see, and as evidenced by this post drinking and writing don't really go hand in hand.
